Tapestry Tent's Christmas Parade

The top three pics are new images of Marguerite's stitching of the Christmas Parade.  She is using a stitch guide created by Amy Bunger.  I added already published images so you can see it all in one place.

ANU-Day 3

Apron
Overview with apron in
Crow in border
Lots of finished border at the bottom
The last day was lots of taking out for me.  I did finish the border across the bottom.  I started on the hat and the apron.  I love the apron.  Perfect for my witch.  I will show you progress as I make some.
I had the best time and look forward, rather desperately, to my next visit to Memphis and Amy's Golden Strand.

ANU-Day 2

Day Two found me still bumbling around with the background, but I did start work on the border across the bottom.  The green stripes are a fill stitch.

I also managed to stitch the scarf without any mishaps.

My dear sweet friend, Julie, remembered that I was interested in this canvas.  She brought it in to show me what Amy had done with it for her last Cooking Up a Canvas class.  You will love it

Can you say Happy Birthday, Stephanie?  Someone's husband better get this.
Nutcracker
Lastly, this handsome man came to class.  Karen stitched this 30" Nutcracker in about 90 days or so I'm told.  Incredible.  There is another in the queue for Amy to create a stitch guide for.  Can't you just see one on each side of your hearth for the holidays?

ANU-Day 1

Day one was not a huge success for me.  I began the day by foolishly and loudly saying to everyone, "there is nothing in this stitch guide that I can not do".  WRONG!  I spent the entire day on the background stitch.  That is what you get for being arrogant.  It is a great stitch that Amy chose.  Rows of off-set stitches are placed with the perfect green Splendor.  Once you get that in, which for me was three tries, there is a running darning stitch.

Of course, we went looking through the store when we needed a break.  My fellow Swan is stitching Mary and Joseph from this set.  Here are the wisemen.  They are still available through Amy's Golden Strand along with her incredible stitch guides.

For dinner, we went to a bar.  Elizabeth and I felt quite naughty at the thought of going to a bar.  After all, we are nice Southern Ladies.  It was actually a delightful restaurant called Erling's(?).  It had a small bar and we sat there cocktailing,  appetizing, and eventually eating dinner.   What a great day.

Memphis and Amy Bunger

I had the best time in Memphis.  THE BEST!  Here's what happened.  I went to the airport and stitched on this boy while waiting on my flight.  Colleen from The Needle Works brought him to me from the last market.

I met my new friend, Elizabeth, at the hotel.  We went straight to Amy's.  Here is what you see when you walk in the classroom.  Your place is stocked with all your stuff.  What you are stitching for class and  anything you might have ordered.

Elizabeth and I were beside ourselves.  We couldn't wait until Friday.  We were both starving so we went next door to Sonic.  Took our cardiac event inducing dinner back to the Hampton Inn.  We ate and had the nicest visit getting to know each other.  It was wonderful.

Helowise from Melissa Shirley

This day finds me in Memphis, Tennessee, attending Amy's Needlepoint University.  I am here to learn the ins and outs of stitching Helowise from Melissa Shirley.  If you are seeing pictures, then I am having luck posting on my ancient laptop.  If not, I am so sorry and will have a boatload to show you next Monday.  Off to class!

Petei Town Crier Day Five

Overview

Cute background
I am almost done!  I ran out of the dark blue background with about 12 stitches to go, but was rescued by a fellow Swan.  I am waiting on the hair thread and looks like I need to still do his eyes.  Be done before you know it.

Kelly Clark Creche-Lesson 2 with Amy Bunger

Overview of the area

Lesson Two-Fun but time comsuming.  I did not time myself on the body of the inn(the white area).  I spent at least six hours on those rocks.  Well worth it.  Amy has outdone herself again.  Kelly Clark's fabulous design doesn't hurt.  I think I will work on the door today.  I am tired, but think I can manage satin stitching without messing it up too bad.  Happy Stitching to you all!

Kelly Clark Creche-Round 2

Fun fibers
This is Kelly Clark's Creche with a stitch guide by Amy Bunger.  It is so beautiful to look at and the fibers are to die for.  When I was at Amy's last March, she was working on the grass and that is when I knew that I had to have it.  Saved my pennies, and here I am getting ready for lesson two.

Grass I have started.

I hope I will have more to show you soon.  My husband said I could stitch all day if I could get the house paid for.  Any ideas?

Happy St. Patrick's Day

Shelley Tribbey's March Angel
I stitched this series of angels many years ago for my daughter.  The canvas is Shelley Tribbey.  The stitch guide is by David McCaskill.  The kits were from Needlenook of La Jolla.  I love them still.

Petei Town Crier Day Four

Overview at the beginning of day four
Day Four finds our hero looking an awful mess.  Let's see what we can do to rectify that....
Got his shoes and socks on plus added buckle

New overview
He has cleaned up considerably.  Don't you love the background?  Diana Bosworth of The French Knot in Fort Worth, TX, came up with this stitch guide.  Let's hope Day Five finds the background finished and his hair done.  Looks like his eyes need a little cross stitch.  Then on to the next one!
