Plowing the Fields at the White Farm

I did not stitch on anything that I planned but did get some green in at the farm.  I am using two strands of overdyed floss and trying to keep the colors to match the paint.  It was slow going but I am happy with it.  Happy Monday!

What I Will Be Stitching on This Weekend

All I have left to stitch is the hat.  I got a wonderful stitch suggestion from Amy Bunger so here we go!

Turquoise Witch frm Painted Pony

I am stitching on Block Seven right now.  I spend an hour to an hour and an half on my Village of Hawk Run Hollow daily.   Or at least try to.

Back to the Owl Angel

I went to The Needle Works yesterday with the SWANs.  I got the beading done on my Owl Angel from Painted Pony.  My phone camera did not capture the color of the beads very well.  They are a brighter orange like the colors of the owls.  I attached them using the Lasso technique that Amy Bunger taught me.   I think it looks very festive!

Slow but Fun

I love cross stitching but it is slowing going for me.  Here is last night's effort.  I got the "O" done.  Woohoo.  This is Block 8 from The Village of Hawk Run Hollow.

Growing Grass at The White Farm

I grew some grass in front of the house.  The stitch suggested by Amy Bunger is Tidal Byzantine Variation using two strands of overdyed cotton changing colors as the paint does.  Pretty cute!

Stitching Around

The SWANs came over to stitch and we had such a good time.  I got out my Owl Angel from Painted Pony out and stitched the dark brown outline.  You will notice that I turned the canvas when I stitched the left side so the angle of the stitch would match on the sides and arm outline.  I used size #8 Kreinik to cross stitch the outline of her collar.  I used the same thread to do long cross stitches following the paint for the crown.

After the Swans left I pulled this out.  I am stitching the background in an open continental stitch using two strands of overdyed floss.  I am deliberately using the lightest part and darkest part of the thread in the needle to get a "frosty" look.  The green squares are mosaic stitches with four strands of floss.  The purple is tent stitching using four strands of floss.  I think I will bead the letters.  I am getting started on Christmas 2017 already!

Clouds are Floating By at The White Farm

I finished the sky stitch called Aquaduct.   I stitched the clouds with one strand of Petite Peluche at Amy Bunger's suggestion.   I think it looks wonderful.  On to the grass!

Sky at White Farm by Diane Ulmer Pedersen

Last night took me back to the sky on this canvas that I adore.  What do you think?

No Stitching Over the Weekend...

...was packing up kids to go back to college.  Here's what I am hoping to be stitching on soon.

Witchy Woman from Painted Pony
I stitched her skirt stripes with Neon Rays for the orange and three strands of floss for the green.  I satin stitched her hair following the paint with three strands of silk.  More to come.

Owl Angel from Painted Pony

I went to The Needle Works for our Wednesday SWAN get together.  I didn't want to take the White Farm so I took my Owl Angel.  I started stitching on the wings.

White Farm's Trees and Sky

I finished the trunks and branches of the tall trees.  It was Amy's idea to stitch them in packed outline stitch using one strand of Soy Luster.

White Farm Sky

I finished the bushes and started on the sky.  The bushes are outlined with tent stitches, filled in with t-stitches and overstitched with free form fly stitches.

Background of White Farm

For the bushes/hills in the background Amy suggested t-stitching using one strand of Lorikeet.  I came back and using one strand of Wildflowers added the trees on top of the t-stitching.

Goals for 2017

Brownstone Row

I took this canvas to Amy's a year and a half ago.  My goal is to stitch everything she created for me before I go back in September.  I hope to get the rest of the stitches then.

The goal is to finish this set.  All I have left are the animals.
