Another adorable ornament from the SWAN Christmas party.  EG stitched this.  Can you see the cute mushroom charm at the bottom?  I am sorry to say that I am not sure of the designer.  Merry Christmas!

Mini Stocking from Maggie

This darling mini stocking was stitched by GG for LO.  The back is black and white check with a red monogram.   I wish I had gotten a shot of that so you could see all the cuteness!

This cute house was stitched by DBC.  We add our initials and the year to the bottom or back of each ornament.  Isn't her initial idea just the cutest?

This one was stitched by me.  Oh, how I struggled with it.  I took it to Amy's and Carolyn's.  With their expert help, it turned out beautifully.  I hope GG, the recipient thinks so.  Merry Christmas!

The SWAN Christmas party was last week.   Each year we draw a name and stitch an ornament in secret for that person.  We get together for lunch and then the big reveal!  What wonderful ornaments with fantastic stitching!  Details to follow on each ornament!

Kelly Clark's "Mackenzie Childs" Pear

I can't remember the name of this pear but it captures the style of Makenzie Childs to me.  This is another pear from the series at The French Knot in Fort Worth.  I changed the stitches somewhat with the help of Amy Bunger and Carolyn Baird.  Amy came up with the thread for the leaves during one of my Rent Amy Days.  Carolyn found the perfect silk ribbon to create the flowers.  I love this one.

Shelly Tribbey Thanksgiving Angel

I hope it is a wonderful and blessed day for you and yours!  I have so much to be thankful for.  I have the best husband and beautiful happy children plus my extended family.    I have many many wonderful friends that add so much to my life.  My stitching and my stitching friends are a source of great joy to me.  I am one lucky girl!

Kelly Clark Snowflake Pear

This is another pear from the Kelly Clark pear series at The French Knot in Fort Worth.  I, of course, changed it to suit me.  The background is done entirely in the T-stitch and I beaded all the snowflakes.  

Kelly Clark Christmas Tree Pear

This is another pear from the series I got from The French Knot in Fort Worth.  I changed some of the stitches and I love it.  That perfect ribbon for it is from The Ribbonry.  It's a ribbon store inside Chaparral in Houston.  It's Carolyn Baird's and she has the cutest ribbons!

I stitched many of these pears when The French Knot in Fort Worth had them as a series.  I changed a lot of the stitches from the guide .  I think this one turned out so cute.

Hawk Run Hollow Village by Carriage House Samplings

If the holidays aren't too hectic, I might make my 2017 deadline for the Village of Hawk Run Hollow.  This is block 10 of 12. 

Sodding the Front Lawn at The Hart Hunt

I am stitching the front yard using a wide angle eyelet stitch from my stitch guide by Amy Bunger.  It creates a lot of texture.  I am using two strands of overdyed cotton floss for the green to yellow/green color.  I will switch to one strand of yellow cotton floss for the yellow parts.  I like it.

The canvas is called the Hart Hunt from Painted Pony Needlepoint Designs.  The stitch guide and thread selections are by Amy Bunger at Amy's Golden Strand.  

The Hart Hunt - Pale Blue Mountains

The stitch guide called for using a darning stitch using one to two strands of stranded silk.  I did not like the darning stitch.  I tried the same pattern but satin stitching it.  I tried it using one strand and then two strands of the silk.  I settled on the one strand version.

Tidal Byzantine at Hart Hunt by Painted Pony Needlepoint Designs

In the little wedges of grass behind the spruce trees I used the Tidal Byzantine stitch.  It's from the guide by Amy Bunger.  It's a cute stitch that could be used for water as well.  Happy Stitching!

Planting More Trees at the Hart Hunt

For the large trees on either side of the canvas I am using the packed outline stitch using one strand of Burmilana.  It's a bit free form which always makes me nervous but I am working on it.

The trees on either side of the house are stitched in encroaching slanted gobelin using two strands of overdyed cotton.  Amy's guide called for Burmilana but I didn't like the color.  I wanted them exactly the color they are painted.  Trame the trunks and voila!

Hart Hunt with a Finished Sky

I was on a roll with the sky so I kept going.  I think it looks really good.  Thanks, Amy Bunger!

The clouds are slanted satin using Petite Peluche.  The color with the kit was dirty looking to me so I used the Petite Peluche from my White Farm canvas.  I am not sure about this either.  I may go look at The Needle Works to see if there is another color.

Holy-Poly Santa from Heartstrings

I picked this cute Santa up from Amy's since I forgot an airport piece.  We had some long waits and layovers so I am happy I had this with me on the way home.  These cute pieces come with stitch guides.

I stitched most of the house.  I love the way Amy used thread color, type of thread and stitch angle to create perspective.  Don't you want to live here?

The sky stitch is a darning patttern which I am always afraid of.  Amy convinced me to give it a go.  I think it's looking pretty good.  I am using three different colors of Dinky Dyes to accomodate the color changes.

Cowgirls Go Stitching

 Texas in the house!  DC and I went to Memphis for our annual visit to Amy's Golden Strand.  Jill and Amy are the best hostesses.  My cute canvas, Hart Hunt, from Painted Pony's Diane Ulmer Pedersen line had the stitch guide and threads waiting for me.  Heaven!

We were served lunch everyday while stitching with Amy's instruction from 10am to 4pm.  How wonderful is that?

I bought this cute canvas at Amy's Golden Strand.  I am very sorry to say that I can't remember the designer.  I bought it for my MIL who is of Swedish descent and does red and white Christmases.
