Melissa Shirley's Custer Santa stocking

Overview
Loopies beard
A real lariat and green fringe on the gloves
A fancy Rhodes Heart on the saddlebag

Bunka brushed the buffalo at the bottom
This is Melissa Shirley's Custer Santa.  I stitched two of these exactly alike.  One for my son and one for my nephew.  It is 13 count and I did these when they were little bitty boys.  They are both fixing to drive!  I bought the canvases at The Needleworks in Austin, Texas, and received all the stitch ideas from the girls who work there.  Most especially from Colleen, the owner.  Check out the one billion french knots on the chaps!

  1. Wow! What a beautiful job you did! I love all the stitches, especially Santa's beard. What stitch and fiber did you use? Also, thank you for all the close up photos. It makes everything so much easier to see. :)

  2. Thank you. The fiber is Loopies which you couch on. I think it is still in production. I did stitch these when the boys were 2 and 3. They are now 14 and 15!
