Let the Earth Be Glad

I am trying to be more consistent about finishing projects but I couldn't help myself and pulled this out.  ANOTHER Diane Ulmer Pedersen from Painted Pony Needlepoint Designs.  I took it to Amy Bunger's last September and got a couple of stitch ideas.

Overview
Lots and lots of Smyrna crosses in my future on these trees.  This amount of finished crosses took about an hour.  I am not tying off each one but pretty close.  I believe the plan for the field includes a pretty open stitch so I don't want to drag that Neon Rays too much.   I'm a happy girl.

Just a Peek

Now that we've "killed the bill"  in the TX Lege, I am back stitching.  I can't show the whole canvas since this is my Secret Swan ornament for our Christmas Exchange.

A little brick stitch using Neon Rays for the boot bottom.  Four strands of silk for the boot shaft.  It's a one trip herringbone for the sole using Kreinik size 8.  I hope my fellow Swan will love this when she opens it at our annual Christmas ornament exchange.
