One door closes, 22 more open

I stitched this cute fellow using a stitch guide by Diana Bosworth of The French Knot in Fort Worth,  Texas.  He is officially finished.

Painted Pony Chi O Angel

Hair color
Now she looks a little more like my Chi O.  Maybe with highlights.  I will show you progress on Monday.

P.S.  The 22 refers to the size of my stash.

Melissa Shirley's Thanksgiving House roof

Step one is outlining the shingles

Step two

Third step on shingles

Fourth step
Oh, my beautiful roof.  First step is outlining the shingles and setting up the pattern . Second and third is filling in each shingle and lastly, the gold bar.  I think they look great.    The Thanksgiving House is by Melissa Shirley and I am stitching it with a guide by Amy Bunger.

P.S.  I said this would be a cross stitch week because I would be stitching my secret Swan ornament.  NOT!  Can't step away from the house.  I is bad.

Where do you stitch?

Where I sit to stitch

To the left of my stitching seat

To the right of my stitching seat

Special cabinet built to hold needlepoint
On Facebook in the Needlepoint Group, we have been showing each other where we stitch.  Can you believe this mess in my nice house?  Where do you stitch?

P.S.  The cabinet is obviously too small!

Village of Hawk Run Hollow

Block one

This is the beginning of Carriage House Sampling's chart called the Village of Hawk Run Hollow.  I am stitching this on 28ct linen with floss.  You can see the sampler in it's entirety by going to carriagehousesamplings.com.  Click on Old Favorites.  The stitched model is on Page 8.  I do love it, but it is slow going.  Despite the fact that I am using a magnifying lamp and stitching on 28 Ct., I can only do about an hour before my eyes start to get really tired.  I will keep at it!  I have The Shores of Hawk Run Village to do as well.

P.S.  This will be a cross stitch week.  I am needlepointing my secret SWAN ornament so no pictures of that now.

Sunday Morning by Ewe and Eye

Overview
Over the hill and through the trees
Barn stitching
Pond with swans
I called Pocket Full of Stitches in Lubbock, TX.  I ordered this cute piece while they were having the deal of the day sale.  You may remember these pictures from my visit to Amy's.  My dear friend remembered that I had admired this canvas when she bought it last year.  She brought it to class and let me take a look.  You can see some of the stitches she started.  Too cute, right?  I am now desperately hoping to receive an Amy's gift certificate for my birthday so I can buy the guide and threads.  I will keep you posted.

Pocket Full of Stitches in Lubbock, TX, is having a deal of the day today.  25% off in stock canvases and 20% off special orders.  What shall I buy?

Helowise the Peddler

Path

Path around her feet

Moon stitching

Fuzzy overview
Today I stitched the path she travels while peddling.   I also stitched the moon with a very subtle stitch and thread.  I am thinking  that it might be too subtle.  Will think on that.

Robin is a genius

Detached buttonhole on the apron

Overview
Background close-up

Overview with more background
There was an awkward looking channel between the skirt and the apron.  Robin King saw it on Facebook and within minutes had come up with the solution along with a diagram.  She is a needlepoint genius.  After that, I did lots of background.

Rebecca Wood Nativity Stocking

Overview

I have resolved to finish all my Christmas stuff by June 1.  To that end, I pulled this puppy out.  I am so close.  The main hang up has been the antlers.  I didn't think slide bullion knots looked like antlers.  This is Memory Yarn from DMC used to create these whimsical antlers.  I am undecided.

Kelly Clark's Pink Pear

In the raw

I enjoyed my green pear and my patchwork pear so much that I had Colleen from The Needle Works order me the pink one.  I bought it with the gift certificates that my children gave me for Christmas.

Helowise from Melissa Shirley

Bats for sale!

Anybody need a bat?
How she looked Thursday night
New skirt
She is called Helowise the Peddler.  She is peddling bats, skull, and pumpkins.  Very appropriate for Friday the 13th.  Bats are straight stitches with fuzzy stuff and satin stitches with stranded thread.  I tried the Florentine Spike for the skirt.  I obviously need to do something with that line between the skirt and apron, but like the way it looks.  To me it looks kind of witchy, tatty, and very orange.
