Found it! Perfect Grass Stitch

I found this stitch, Plaited Gobelin, in one of my Stitches for Effect books.  I also found the perfect thread.  It's Wildflowers in Seaweed.  The perfect combo color.  I stole it from another project bag so I hope I have enough!  I finished the wall in front of the house this morning.  I am going to do some cooking and then settle down to "plant" some more grass.

Amy Bunger Has a New Website!

http://www.amysgoldenstrand.com

Maybe it has been up for awhile but I am just now seeing it!  Just spend an hour looking at all the stitch guides I ever wanted.  So much to look at in an easy format.   There goes the budget!

Built Another Wall at the White Farm

I am moving along building the White Farm.  I am stitching the wall in front of the house with three strands of overdyed floss using the Alternating Smyrna stitch.  Looks good to me!  Thank you again, Amy Bunger!

Tree Between the House and Barn of The White Farm

On Sunday of Memorial Day weekend it rained all day.  So I stitched all day.  I stitched the tree trunk and branches using a twisted thread in packed outline.  I filled in the background around it using one strand of Lorikeet in the t-stitch.  I stitched the leaves in two strands of overdyed cotton in the lazy daisy stitch.  These are all stitch recommendations from the fabulous Amy Bunger.

Grass Stitches on the White Farm

I think I have tried every grass stitch there is for this middle section.  I goofed up and put the middle section stitch on the front section of grass.  I am not about to take out all that stitching.  The stitch for the front section did not look good to me in the middle section of grass.  Here's what I tried:

From Canvas Embroidery
Same stitch in a different thread-Front runner for now

Stitch I found on Pinterest

Patio stitch from Ins and Outs

Double Dutch-too much texture

Going to Amy's in October!

I so look forward to my annual trip to Amy's Golden Strand in Memphis.  I love Amy Bunger's company, her hospitality and her stitch ideas.  This is the canvas I will be stitching on when I am there.  Isn't it adorable?  It's a Diane Ulmer Pedersen from Painted Pony.  I can't wait to see what Amy comes up with.
