Before we get to the orange flower issue, I tried out some stitches for the Emerald City. Not sure about any of them.
I was stumped for a stitch for these flowers. I want them to be cute but not take away anything from Glinda.
I sought the help of an expert. If you do not have Amy's videos, you are missing out. I stuck this one in the DVD player.

Byzantine stitch |
One of her flower stitch suggestions was an irregular jacquard. I thought that stitch was a little too long here but tried the Byzantine stitch. I am still thinking about it.
What about button hole stitch? I like what you have done, though!
ReplyDeleteThank you. I was thinking of buttonhole for the smaller flowers at the bottom. Maybe I should use it for all.
DeleteI hope you keep the Byzantine Stitch for the flowers. They look jazzy and fun.
ReplyDeleteYou are right, button hole is best for smaller ones. You realize that I was by no means criticizing your stitch choice! I love the Byzantine!
ReplyDeleteI like the Byzantine but not exactly the way it's working. I really like the way it looks on the lower left petal. What about doing that V on every petal but with the point of the V pointing to the center edge of the petal like the lower left one. Treat each petal as a separate piece. Just thinking out loud here.
ReplyDeleteAs beautiful as this canvas is and the flowers will be gorgeous when finished, I only have one thing to say....Betsy, Betsy, Betsy!!!!
