I could not figure out what to do for the overskirt. I was thumbing through my copy of Jane Zimmerman's Ultimate Encyclopedia of Canvas Embroidery Volume One when I found this perfect stitch on page 137. I am using Kreinik ribbon for the red and Accentuate for the gold. I love it.
We have been spring breaking it in sunny cool Northern California. I am home now and ready for some Easter egg stitching just as soon as I get Penny the Puppy back from the kennel.
I love embellishing canvases with doodads. I getting better and braver with it thanks to Carolyn Baird, teacher extraordinaire, and Elizabeth H, enabler extraordinaire.

I love all the flowers, beads, and trims on here. So cheerful!
I had the best day on Saturday. I went to Houston and had studio time with Carolyn Baird at Chaparral. I bought ribbons and doodads from her store within the store, The Ribbonry. So much fun. This was followed by watching my favorite tennis player win his first match of the school season. The rainy Sunday was spent starting on the Queen of Hearts. The perfect shade of Neon Rays(21) for the pink stripes. Hope you had a great weekend too!
School is canceled today although we have no snow. Maybe it's icy out there. Stitching time!
I am in the mood to build a house. All houses below are from Squiggee. Make the cutest three dimensional ornaments.
I have wanted this for so long. ABC Stitch Therapy had a big sale so I ordered this lady and her guide. I love her! I can't wait to share her with Carolyn Baird this weekend at studio time. I'll keep you posted!
I stitched Patchwork Santa many years ago. The stitch guide was created by Carole Lake through The Needle Works in Austin, Texas. He is still one of my favorites. There is a Mrs. Claus as well. If I'm not mistaken they are both still available. Happy Tuesday!
