Village Scene by Ewe and Eye-Bits and Bobs

I'm down to the doodads.  All the little bits on this gorgeous canvas.

I finished the roof on the teal house.  I stitched the roof on the tall parts in encroaching gobelin over two with two strands of floss.  I went back to it vertically for the barn.

I tried some straight stitches for the leaves.  I am thinking that ribbon might look better.

I stitched the hedge to the left of the gold house in alternating smyrna crosses with two strands of silk. I really like it.

I filled in the grass around the front pathway of the yellow house.  Making progress!

I'm Roofing

I don't know if you can see it or not but I stitched an encroaching gobelin over two horizontally for the roof on the teal house.  It looks cute in person.

Taking a Break from Christmas

I finished my MIL's gift.  I am stalled out on my secret SWAN gift.  I pulled out the Village by Ewe and Eye for fun.

Almost Finished with the Sleigh

I added the red bow to the large yellow package.  That's Flair.  I stitched the small green package.

I also stitched the single thread around the edge.

A Little Wobbly

Band between checked rows
I used another stitch out of Carolyn Baird's Merry Easter Eggs book here.  I think it looks so cute.

Overview of sleigh
Here's where it gets wobbly.  I bought DMC Memory Thread.  I was going to tack it down over the railing of the sleigh.  It was too skimpy.  I took the three strands of the silk I am using and started covering it entirely.  I think it looks OK for my first try.  You need a sharp needle so you can go down anywhere on the canvas.  I think I am going to get some more silk and try to even out the lumpy parts.
Close up
Over here I had to double up the memory thread to cover the wider curl.

Shelly Tribbey Sleigh

I bought this canvas on impulse the day after I moved out of my house.  We had to stay in a hotel for two days.  It was pouring down rain so I went to The Needle Works and got something to entertain myself.  All the stitches are from Carolyn Baird's Merry Easter Eggs book.  I am going to have it finished as a box on feet.  I hope my MIL likes it!
