What! More pears?

I signed up for the Kelly Clark Pear series from The French Knot.  Very very cute.  Here's what I have done so far on the first one:

Look what came in the mail yesterday!  Stitch faster, Stephanie!

More progress on Dr. Rogue

Dr. by Rogue Needlepoint
Here is the doctor at bedtime on Saturday.  It was Carolyn Baird's cute idea to have the background look like those green subway tiles that hospitals often use to cover the walls.  Super cute.  Will probably finish him manana.

Glinda the Good Witch

On Saturday I finished the sky and messed around with the buildings of the Emerald City.  Not a fan of either one.

Sunday I spent my time trying to finish the skirt.  Wouldn't you know I ran out of thread!  I hope the dye lots match.

Blue skies

Stitching the blue sky in the Milanese stitch using one strand of overdyed floss.  This idea was suggested to me by the wonderful Carolyn Baird.  Love how much fun Glinda and Carolyn are!

Just need the eyes done

I am so looking forward to this weekend.  I got my stitching mojo back and want to spend some time with Glinda and Betsy Ross.  All I got done yesterday was to finish the skin and put on blush.  Wow, that is some heavy duty blush.  Maybe I should use a light shade of pink.

I used these long cards of Splendor.  I love the convenience of having all the face colors in one place.  I also like not having to buy full cards for small areas.

Glinda the Good Witch by Melissa Shirley

I have not felt like stitching the last few days.  Today brought cold rainy weather and I pulled out Glinda.   I decided to make her face come alive.

Half alive?
I stitched most of her face with three strands of silk before deciding I didn't like it.  Frogged it and this is the redo I got done after dinner.

So little Fall around here

Fall is somewhat in the air down here in Texas.  It will be in the low 80's today instead of the high 90's.  I have very little fall stitching to put out.  Perhaps that needs remedying.

Fried or soaked

There was not a lot of stitching here this weekend.  I spent Saturday getting a fresh sunburn watching my favorite tennis player.  We spent all day Sunday waiting around for a break in the rain.  Here's what I managed in between events.  My new sampler from Ewe and Eye that I bought at their sampler trunk show.   It's still going on if you are interested.

Road trip with a side trip

On a whim, I decided to go to Houston to furniture shop.  I had to stop at Chaparral to say Hi to Carolyn and Sally Anne.  There was a sampler trunk show.  There were so many adorable stitched examples.  Uh-oh!

Ewe and Eye
I bought this one to stitch for my powder room.

From a class a long time ago...

I took this class from Kelly Clark at The Needle Works ages ago.  Designed by Kelly with a stitch guide by her.  It was not easy for me.  Instead of persevering, I put it away.  For some reason, I was in the mood to work on it yesterday.  Here's how it looked when I pulled it out.

I tore out all the background.  My canvas is off by two threads and I could never compensate.

Cleaned up
I changed the border.  The darker red in the upper part is part of the original stitch guide.  The lower part is my contribution.
