Tree Between the House and Barn of The White Farm

On Sunday of Memorial Day weekend it rained all day.  So I stitched all day.  I stitched the tree trunk and branches using a twisted thread in packed outline.  I filled in the background around it using one strand of Lorikeet in the t-stitch.  I stitched the leaves in two strands of overdyed cotton in the lazy daisy stitch.  These are all stitch recommendations from the fabulous Amy Bunger.

Grass Stitches on the White Farm

I think I have tried every grass stitch there is for this middle section.  I goofed up and put the middle section stitch on the front section of grass.  I am not about to take out all that stitching.  The stitch for the front section did not look good to me in the middle section of grass.  Here's what I tried:

Going to Amy's in October!

I so look forward to my annual trip to Amy's Golden Strand in Memphis.  I love Amy Bunger's company, her hospitality and her stitch ideas.  This is the canvas I will be stitching on when I am there.  Isn't it adorable?  It's a Diane Ulmer Pedersen from Painted Pony.  I can't wait to see what Amy comes up with.

White Farm's Upper Left Corner

I finished the compensating around the leaves.  Am I 100% happy with it?  No but I can't think of anyway to make it better.  Maybe add some more leaves?

White Farm by Diane Ulmer Pedersen for Painted Pony

I stitched the pathway to the house using two strands of overdyed floss.

Pathway

I stitched the leaves using two strands of overdyed floss in the lazy daisy stitch.  I am trying to compensate around the leaves.  I am not too sure how this is going to turn out.

Itching to be Stitching

Here's hoping Mother's Day weekend brings some serious stitching time!

Painted Pony's Owl Angel

I am still busy fighting off hotels in neighborhoods but did stitch a little.  I loved it.  I am happy with the stitch selection for the dress but not the thread.  That may have to come out.  I did long cross stitches for the crown using #8 Kreinik in silver.  I used the same color of silver in Kreinik ribbon to satin stitch the wings.  I am happy with that!  Wish me luck!  I really want to get back to stitching!
