Sounds like a dance, doesn't it? The Victorian step is a versatile stitch. I am using it vertically for the edges of the Thanksgiving House.
I have used it horizontally for a field and a candy stripe. I also tried it on a sleeve.

Oooo -- Steph -- I have that same stone house with pond and hillsides (the last photo you shared). I just love it, but I haven't been able to start it yet -- I just get it out and stare at it lovingly.
