For anyone who has followed my blog for any length of time you know that I spent most of 2015 fighting to get the short-term rental industry's mini-hotels out of residential zones.  These are properties that are used solely for providing commercial lodging.  No one lives there.  They create a nuisance in the area and add nothing to the community.  We won here in ATX.  Well, the Texas Legislature is poised to overturn the laws of all cities in Texas protecting us from this invasion.  If you live anywhere in Texas and don't want a hotel next door, you had better get on the stick to call your senator and house rep.

What I wish I was going to stitch on instead of heading to Kinko's to make packets for our state lege:

Owl Angel from Painted Pony

Donkey from Heartstrings Nativity

  1. That's typical of conservative legislators. They're strongly in favor of local control until the locals do something they (or the lobbyists) don't like. Then they swoop in to override the solution that those close to the problem have constructed. Good luck with your effort!
