I'm Back!

I sure did miss blogging.  I must confess that I didn't go skiiing.  I went to Boston, but did not have a going to Boston needlepoint ornament.  I do now.  I bought this little cutie at Stitch Boutique.  It is the cutest little store in the Back Bay area of Boston.  This depicts the Boston Public Gardens.  The golden domed building in the back is the Massachusetts State House.  There are Swan boats available to ride on the water.  The gold duck and her babies are brass ducks erected in the park.  We couldn't see them because they were under all the snow.  They are from the book Make Way for Ducklings.  I remember my grandmother reading that book to us.  So this canvas evoked all kinds of warm fuzzy feelings in me.

I stitched a little of the water while I was there with some overdyed silk.  Back to the real world!

  3. Steph, this is adorable. I'm going to have to order one of these. Boston Public Gardens is a favorite place because of Mamma Duck and her little trail of ducklings. I did a post on it a few years ago. You can see Mrs. Mallard and her little ones on my link here: http://hyacinthforthesoul.blogspot.com/search?q=make+way+for+ducklings No snow. '-)
Glad you had a good time............Sarah

  7. So nice to be missed. It was a successful and fun visit. I don't know what stitches will look good. I will jump in as soon as I get over the cold I brought home with me! Thanks for all your support.
