Jumping all around

Melissa Shirley cracker
I finished this stitch on the side using Petite Silk Lame and Neon Rays.  I love it!

Joseph from the Heartstrings Nativity set
These figures all come with a stitch guide.  I tried the top stitch recommended by the guide.  I thought it a bit too fancy for Joseph.  I found the bottom one in one of my Canvas Embroidery books.  I like it.  In fact, the stitch on the green area of the cracker is from a Canvas Embroidery book.  There are two volumes with tons of stitches.  I use them both all the time.

    1. Yes, m'am. Volumes I and II. I love that you can get an idea of how the stitch will look. Those photos of stitched examples is very helpful.

    1. It's called Large Triple Crossed Stitch. It's the middle one on page 110 of The Ultimate Encyclopedia of Canvas Embroidery, Volume Two, by Jane Zimmerman. I got it at The Needle Works.

    2. Thanks! I have both of her books also, from the needle works too! I've been working on the Nativity Procession Liz stocking. Don't you have one too?

    1. Thank you. Looks a little more rugged for a manly man like Joseph.

  5. Steph, I agree, the second stitch seems more fitting for a man's coat. Your eye for detail is amazing.
