Weekend shopping

I went to The Needle Works on Saturday afternoon.  I purchased a few things.  I got a large ring and 100 floss bags.   I put all the threads from my Kelly Clark Creche in bags and on the ring.  It is so nice to be organized two years in to the project.

I also picked up this cute Chi O round that Colleen got for me at the Dallas Market.  It is from Kangaroo Paws.  She specializes in sorority needlepoint.  We are in to sororities and needlepoint around here so makes sense we should have one.  I shouldn't have started it, but I was kicked out of my TV room by the teenagers and was confined to my bed.  I found the perfect color thread for the gold so I began to experiment.

We have a winner
All the stitches are from my Canvas Embroidery book.  It was the only one upstairs.  I will be using the one on the left here.

I also bought Julia Snyder's book.  Julia and I are from Dallas.  I remember her as a little girl coming in to the shop where her mom, Patsy, worked and I shopped. That was way way back!  The book has many stitches that I have never seen before.  I think I will be adding more laid fill stitches to my canvases.

  3. I was looking back over your 2013 projects and wondered did you finish Betsy Ross? I must have missed it if you did. Just wondered if she was done and finish finished - she is gorgeous! Your stitching is inspiring. I should be working on large projects right now but I've been doing smaller ones so I can actually finish them quickly.

    1. I understand your way of thinking. Betsy Ross is still unfinished. I got stuck on her hair. Gave her a bad hairdo one day and haven't gotten around to a redo.
