Getting ready for the finisher

I went to Joann's today.  I love/hate that place.  I love to look at fabric, trims and doodads.  I hate how slow their service is.  I got a few things to get these canvases ready to go to the finisher.

Fabric for the back

Fabric for the back and floss for the twisted cord

Ribbons, fabric and floss for this Princess and Me Santa

Shopped from my own store for this Vandy ornament

I want it to look like this one
My ribbon box

Fabric stash
I can't wait to show you the finished products.

  1. Hi Steph, just wondering about the amount of fabric you purchase for an ornament size finish. Do you buy fat quarters?
Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks

    1. I know nothing about finishing. I feel certain the fabric has to be wider than the finishing area in order to create a seam??? I buy a lot of fat quarters because they are frequently on sale for .99. They always seem big enough for ornaments. Does that help?

  2. I too have a love/hate relationship with that store- even more so with Michael's. What will you do with all the pretty ribbons for the blue Santa?

    1. Bunch them up on top like Kelly Clark's Halloween topiary as seen on Pinterest. I hope you will like it.

  3. So you're finishing as a standup? I think it will look fantastic!
