Setting the record straight

Here is the truth about my Ewe and Eye collection...

The Lawnmowers by Karen Cruden for Ewe and Eye

This is the first  one.  And the only finished one.  The stitch guide is by Amy Bunger.  LOVE it.

Work in progress
The next one I bought was this one.  Colleen and Kim at The Needle Works plus Stephanie and Marguerite are all working on the stitches and thread selection for this one.   Below are some of the ideas we came up with

Water stitch by Colleen

Barn roof by Stephanie

Water stitch by Colleen

Yellow house stitch by Kim

Red house roof stitch by Stephanie
The third Ewe and Eye canvas I bought is also a work in progress.  This one is by Wilson Blakey for Ewe and Eye.

Sunday Meeting by Ewe and Eye
The stitch guide is by Amy Bunger.  Next is Coming Home.

Coming Home by Anne Tavoletti for Ewe and Eye

This one is actually in my possession.  I am taking it to Memphis in October for my ANU class at Amy's Golden Strand.  Amy has done a stitch guide for this and I can't wait to see it.

Next up is....

Fourth of July

Amy and Jill posted a pic of this while at TNNA Market.  Everyone went wild over it and started begging Amy to do a stitch guide.  She agreed after some consulting with the nice ladies at Ewe and Eye.   They will be painting a slightly larger version to accomodate decorative stitches.  Your LNS can order the enlarged version or order from Amy's Golden Strand in Memphis.  Mine is on order.  And to make it more tempting, Amy did agree to do a stitch guide.

Can you believe there is more?

On order
I ordered this one from stitchtherapyneedlepoint.com.   She was having a sale and I couldn't pass up a good deal.

Now this last one is new and I don't own it or have it on order, but just adore it.

Merry Christmas to me?

Which one is your favorite?

  1. They are all beautiful. Too difficult to choose just one. I am very envious that you have stitching friends to bounce ideas off of. How lucky for you that you live so close to someone like Colleen and a shop as beautiful as hers. Then add your beautiful stitching and you have a trifecta!

  2. Coming Home by Anne Tavoletti is first on my list, then Summer Homes by Anne Tavoletti and Houses of Ships by Karen Cruden (my husband likes this one). I love Anne Tavoletti the most. But if the budget holds I could do all of them...LOL

    1. I hope the budget holds. Amy Bunger has a stitch guide for Coming Home. I don't know of one for the other two. But I am with Debra! I want them all!

  4. Hey Stephanie,

If you got in to Amy's for October, that means you are going to be there with Linda and Karen. What a great time you will have. They are just the nicest two girls you ever want to meet. I can't wait to hear about your stitching adventures that weekend.

I too would be interested in your finishing ideas for the Ewe and Eye canvases.

    1. Yes, I am with Linda and Karen. Also Elizabeth who I met on the internet and got together with in our class last March. Plus my three friends who live in and around Memphis that I met the second time I went to Amy's. And Chitown stitcher and her posse. Should be great fun!

  5. I think Summer Homes on Pond is my favorite. Maybe because it is similar to some of By The Bay cross stitch patterns like Tidal River with the cloudy sky and the shape of the trees. I love the gray brick (stone?) building too.

    1. I do love that one. It does not go anywhere in my house, but I love the colors and the peacefulness of it. I will work on it on my own and take it to a Rent Amy Day when I get stuck.

  6. I love most of their canvases with houses. Well I am with you on this...I couldn't decide so I would have to own them all... and may one day. I just have to finish some of what I have. Oh, I did order the July 4th and glad to have a little time before it arrives.

    1. Great. We will have to set up a FB page for those using Amy's guide. That will be fun.
