First step of pants stitch-Vertical rows of scotch  

Leave one thread between vertical rows

Third step-Fill in channels of either side of skipped thread

Tennis shoes and socks plus legs


How he looks at bedtime on Tuesday

I have put the roof aside in order to get all my ornaments done by September 1.  This one is for my favorite tennis player.  This round ornament has been difficult for me.  It is hard to imagine the end result.  I will keep plugging away.

    Like it. What stitch is the sweater vest. Looks like knitting stitch?

      I don't know. You may have noticed I didn't finish it. I had it diagrammed out and now I can't find the diagram. I will keep looking. Thanks.

      I found it. It is on pg 113 of Canvas Embroidery, Vol. 2. It is called Oblong Stitch variation.

    I put my stockings down earlier in the summer to do the same thing. Your tennis player looks great! I love it all! The hair, the vest, the pants, all are great!

    Here's a little trick. Just cover up the right side of the canvas to see the front view of the finished ornament. And so on. To me the legs always look too fat but how else can you stitch a person shaped like a cylinder?
