Red Magi from Heartstrings

There has been very little stitching around here.  Friday night found me adding the gold to the underskirt.  It is the same stitch as the gray, but upside down.  I like it.

  1. It's looking great. I forgot, did you change threads from the stitch guide?

    1. Yes, I used threads from my stash. My friend who is stitching these along side me is using the exact colors from the guide and there is very little difference.

  2. Wow. The gold and gray together are striking. I would never have thought of that color combination as being so dramatic. Look's great.

    1. Yes, they are so easy to stitch. Are you starting to get ready? I pulled out my fall clothes and am happy to say that all the pants are too big! Going shopping starting on Monday.

    1. An ort jar is used to collect the threads you snip off. This is 2012. Some people decorate their's or even have monthly jars to collect. I start collecting my orts after seeing a post where the stitcher threw her orts out for the birds. She had trees full of colorful nests.

  6. I agree with Dr Payne. I never would have thought gray and gold would look so good together. And what an inventive way to stitch squares. Looks like the gray is slightly variegated? Love it.
