Are you part of the candy cane craze?

Custom candy cane by Carol Dupree
I think it must be contagious.   I stitched a couple of these right after Christmas and now I see them everywhere.  Colleen from The Needle Works in Austin, TX,  special ordered a couple for me.  This one is for the school our kids go to.  Our mascot is a Crusader and this is our shout out, "Go Cru".   This is for next year.   The other one was for someone who shall remain nameless at this point.  Had to go back for a touch-up.    Anyway,  if you go  to and/or by clicking on the list to the right, you will see that I am not the only one addicted to these cuties.  They both posted Carol Dupree candy canes yesterday.   Below are the ones from my past.  You should get one!

  1. You know I love them. I need more stitch ideas for some of my others. Which stitches did you do on yours?

  2. On the TCU one I did a cashmere stitch from top to bottom changing threads with the color changes. For the SMU one I did a bargello changing colors as painted. Maybe I should write a guide???

  3. we are crazy for candy canes! the possibilities are just endless!

  4. I love the way you finished these. They look so adorable. My Mom, Carol Dupree, just wanted to let you gals know that all of her work can be ordered through your local needlepoint shop. If they don't carry her designs, please have them contact her to order. She would appreciate it ever so much. Thanks and keep up the beautiful finishing. Great job!

    1. You are so welcome. Tell her we love them. Merry Christmas!
