This is the way to Amy's House

If you have followed my blog at all, you know that I am crazy about Amy Bunger stitch guides.  I am also crazy about Amy Bunger herself.  I am headed to Memphis very soon and thought to do a review of what I already have.

My second Amy project is this gorgeous Tapestry Tent stocking.  This one got started when Amy used to travel.   You rented her time and talent on your own turf.  I do not care to tell you how many years ago this was.  I bet Amy doesn't either.

My next Amy project was the North Pole Village stocking by Rebecca Wood which I just finished.  All the Swans attended Amy's Cooking Up a Canvas in Memphis in October of 2009.   That was when Amy would do guides for any canvas you sent her.

On my second visit to Amy's Cooking Up a Canvas class, I stitched this beauty by Melissa Shirley using the guide Amy created.  It is my pride and joy.  It is called Cream Farmhouse.

I just realized this is a super long post already.  We will continue tomorrow to review all of Stephanie's Amy Bunger stuff.

  1. So good! You pick the best canvasses and Amy designs the best best stitch guides, hands down! Another thing, sister, your stitching is Perfect! Perfect I say! It is beautiful! The Nativity stocking is breath-taking. My older son has seen it and wants it. I am stitching stockings right now for my daughter and her husband for their house and when I do his when he gets married he wants that one. Looks like I'd better get started soon! I love going to Amy's, too and have been 4 times. I went to two Cook Ups, one Rent Amy ( for 2.5 days with 2 friends, heaven!), and one ANU. I loved it and will go back! Have a fabulous time!

    1. I highly recommend the guide for the Tapestry Tent stocking. It is expensive, but so worth it. I love it that we are both such big Amy fans!

  2. Hi Steph,
I am so glad that you feel the same about Amy as I do. I totally adore her first as a person and then as a teacher. She is such a talented teacher in addition to being such a wonderful person.
I love all the projects that you have done with Amy. Her stitch guides are great and your stitching is perfect.
    See you real soon.

  3. You can't imagine how envious I am of you, Linda, Karen, and Elizabeth all being at Amy's for the same weekend. I wish I were going, too! I'll be there in spirit! I know you will have a memorable weekend - such fun to look forward to! Love your Tapestry Tent stocking - just beautiful!

  4. I finished the Nativity Stocking with Amy's Guide last year for my sister in law. It is a beautiful stitch guide and a great deal of fun, too! People are forever commenting on Mary's veil and the blanket on Jesus. Really interesting! Have fun!

  6. While on a search for Three Kings Day crochet patterns and needlepoint projects, I found this! STUNNING! True pieces of art here. Wish I had the time and patience to try that but plastic canvas is about as close as I can get.
