Pink Pears and Chi O's

Painted Pony Chi O Angel

This cutie pie just came back from the finishers.  I added the ribbon.

Kelly Clark Pink Pear

I picked this up again and filled in the channels with Flair and #4 Kreinik that I got at The Needle Works today.  See below:

Looks like candy

When I got home I started looking through my button collection.  The other two pears that I have done are embellished with buttons, beads, and ribbon.  Below are different combos from my collection.

First combo

The ecru button has a vine etched on it

Second combo

Combo#3

Combo #4
Which one??  See what the embellishments did for the ones below.  Both are Kelly Clark Pears that I stitched using her guide.  They are available from The Needle Works.

Melissa Shirley's Thanksgiving House

Special magnet

This cute magnet was included with my Thanksgiving House.  Isn't it an adorable rendition of the front door?

Roof Shingles
Can you see that I am headed in to the last row?  On one side!  At bedtime on Tuesday, 92 done and 150 to go.  Fortunately, I have the pattern down so I can do them while watching TV or talking on the phone.

Edge of the roof
Amazingly good picture of the edge of the roof.  The first step of the black stitch on the edge is done with Presencia cotton.  I have never used that before and I love it.  It lays very well and is not as shiny as DMC perle cotton.  Give it a try.
Stitch guide for this project is by Amy Bunger of Amy's Golden Strand in Memphis, TN.

Melissa Shirley's Thanksgiving House

Edge of the roof

Just so you don't get tired of looking at shingles, here is the edge of the roof.   I am sorry you can't see the black stitch.  It is very cool.

Shingles on the front and back wall
This house has more shingles than any I have ever seen.  I got through a few more shingles on the roof Monday night before I moved on.  I wanted to try some of these.   These are the shingles on the wall.  I really like them.  The stitch guide is by Amy Bunger of Amy's Golden Strand in Memphis, TN.

Melissa Shirley's Thanksgiving House

Back door

Turkey by the back door

I had to figure out how to rotate my upside down photo of the back door.  I love the pies cooling on the stoop.  Can you just imagine what Amy is going to do with the turkey?  Can't wait!

Progress on the roof
This blog may get deadly dull for the next few days.  I am trying to catch up on the roof.  Sunday night I went from 51 shingles to 67.  There are 141 on each side!  Also, we have figured out the length necessary for my daughter's belt, so there will be a lot of basketweaving going on.  However, you know how I jump around.  We'll see what comes next.

Melissa Shirley's Thanksgiving House

Shingles on the roof

I have had the roof for two months now and have only done 44 shingles.  198 to go plus all the other areas.
Overview
However, you can see that it is a rather large piece and some what daunting.  We all know that Stephanie is easily distracted by her new stuff .  There has been a lot of that lately.

Good news, bad news
The second kit arrived last week!  Very exciting!  Here are the four walls on stretcher bars ready to go.  Feeling overwhelmed?

Front door
I should be feeling overwhelmed, but I am excited!  I love the stitch guide and the green threads!  Green is my favorite color.  I love all the 3-D houses from Melissa Shirley, but I feel certain it was the green color of the house that made me want to start with this one.

Other forms of art

Pencil sketch by my daughter

There was just a little bit of stitching last night on my Thanksgiving House roof after  a long hard day.  I thought you might enjoy looking at this beauty.  More needlepoint on Monday!

Welcome Summer

Shelley Tribbey's June Angel
I stitched this series many years ago for my daughter.  The stitch guide was done by David McCaskill and the kits sent out by Needlenook of La Jolla.  Bring on the heat!
