Progress on Heartstrings' Green Magi

Funky beard, but OK

Undergown with medallions stitched in

Overview
I am not sure what to make of these medallions.  They are cross-stitched with three strands of silk.   Then you come back in and fill in the rest with basketweave.   I will have to see the end result before I pass judgement.   This man came with a stitch guide by Pat Thode and was purchased at The Needle Works in Austin, TX.

  5. You know, if the stars are beaded or very glitzy, having the medallions less prominent and on a background of basketweave makes sense. You should try a bit of all three areas and see what you think.

    1. The stars could be beaded. The guide calls for using the Kreinik ribbon and it was thick and yucky looking. I was thinking of beading or looking for a star sequin.

  6. It will be beautiful with whatever you decide needs to be stitched for the medallions. Love the rich jewel colors of the robes on these guys.
