Petei, Come Back!

I have been looking at Petei stuff lately and realizing what a hole in the needlepoint world it is to no longer have these and all other designs available.

This is by Painted Pony and is still available

  1. I love these! My LNS never carried these canvasses so I did not know what I was missing until they were gone! I have been able to snag an Eagle Scout Petei canvass but no more. This just doesn't make sense to MBA stitcher me! If there Is a demand there should be a supply! Another note, Amy seems to have developed/found a similar artist as shown in her newsletter!

    1. I did see those. Looks like they have great potential. What character would you like to see?

  2. They are all so cute! I want to be G's family/friend who got all those fantastic Santas!

    1. Me, too! I believe she has kept them all. They make the cutest little ornaments or stand-ups. Happy New Year to you!

  3. Occasionally you can find them on EBay but the prices have skyrocketed.

  4. I know!! Makes me want to go through my stash and stitch a few of them. I did the French Knot series for 2-3 years and probably have half of them yet to do. Did you notice in Amy's newsletter that she has found someone in Memphis to paint in a similar style. Makes me wonder if there's a chance Petei will sell her designs to someone who will carry on the line. Just hoping!

  5. I couldn't agree more. Love her designs and have stitched many during the years. Well, not many compared to what you've stitched, but many for me. ;-) I do hope someone buys her designs and continues to produce these. They are all charming!

  6. I have the Wizard of Oz Series from Petei. It was the first series that I bought when i first started to stitch. I have stitched about 80 % of it, mostly basketweave. I have the canvasses hanging on my office wall, I love looking at them....now, you have inspired me and maybe I will finish them at some point!

    1. Please, do! I dug around in my stash and the only one I have left is the King of Hearts from Alice in Wonderland. He's up for 2013.

  7. I love Peteis too. And our new designer Rogue Needlepoint is kind of picking up where Petei left off, but with a different twist. I contacted the designer and asked if a Lucy and Ricky would be possible since I'm a HUGE I Love Lucy fan. Well... I got it and they're perfect. You can suggest anything and they can probably do it.

  8. Her web site says info coming this fall, but that has been posted for months. Rather cryptic!
