ANU-Day 1

Day one was not a huge success for me.  I began the day by foolishly and loudly saying to everyone, "there is nothing in this stitch guide that I can not do".  WRONG!  I spent the entire day on the background stitch.  That is what you get for being arrogant.  It is a great stitch that Amy chose.  Rows of off-set stitches are placed with the perfect green Splendor.  Once you get that in, which for me was three tries, there is a running darning stitch.

Of course, we went looking through the store when we needed a break.  My fellow Swan is stitching Mary and Joseph from this set.  Here are the wisemen.  They are still available through Amy's Golden Strand along with her incredible stitch guides.

For dinner, we went to a bar.  Elizabeth and I felt quite naughty at the thought of going to a bar.  After all, we are nice Southern Ladies.  It was actually a delightful restaurant called Erling's(?).  It had a small bar and we sat there cocktailing,  appetizing, and eventually eating dinner.   What a great day.

  1. Hi Steph,
Sometime it is the simplest stitch that stumps you. The background looks great. This weekend when Karen and I are in Baltimore we are going to a bead store in search for the perfect beads for my new fobs. I will be looking for very small skull beads for my Helowise. If I find any do you want some?

    1. Thanks. I did persist through a whole card of Splendor. The rows are off-set and then irregularly spaced. Amy did tell me that Tony did it wrong his first go around so I don't feel so bad. Thanks for stopping by.

  3. You see, that is why you go to Amy. No one else in the whole world is going to suggest a background like that. And it is perfect. I am just saying.
