I had the best time in Memphis. THE BEST! Here's what happened. I went to the airport and stitched on this boy while waiting on my flight. Colleen from The Needle Works brought him to me from the last market.

I met my new friend, Elizabeth, at the hotel. We went straight to Amy's. Here is what you see when you walk in the classroom. Your place is stocked with all your stuff. What you are stitching for class and anything you might have ordered.

Elizabeth and I were beside ourselves. We couldn't wait until Friday. We were both starving so we went next door to Sonic. Took our cardiac event inducing dinner back to the Hampton Inn. We ate and had the nicest visit getting to know each other. It was wonderful.
It is really an amazing experience when you first walk in and see the class all set up! I love it. I can't wait to see more!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you are able to blog! Miss you already and can't wait until we can stitch together again. It was such a fun trip and Amy's Needlepoint University is one of the best stitching experiences anyone could ever have.

You girls are so right! I feel like a sad sack at the prospect of stitching alone today. I bet I perk up when I put the needle in my hand. Can't wait to see progress on the turkey.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to go in May. I am doing the really tall nutcracker. I'm excited to watch your progress on all of your canvases
ReplyDeleteSaw him in person and he is awesome.
DeleteSteph, happy you are getting this fun experience. Can't wait to see those pieces all stitched up. ~ Sarah
ReplyDeleteI can't wait either. Give me a few minutes.
DeleteHi Steph,
ReplyDeleteWelcome Home!! You were missed. I am so glad that you and Elizabeth had a wonderful time but you cannot help but have the time of your life wit Amy. Looking forward to seeing your progress . You have to tell all of how to do the snake.
Linda
I missed y'all, too! I was so bummed that I could not blog. I did have the time of my life. The snake should be it's own video. It is on Luella, one of the other witches in this series. It turned out really cute and didn' t look too difficult to make.
DeleteHi, Steph - I have been looking forward to reading about your trip. Sounds like it is the stuff dreams are made of - nothing but stitching, eating, and great companionship for three days! Can't wait to go in May! As Linda said - you will have to tell us all how to do the snake on our Helowise canvases. Love the picture of the clipboard with the Shopping Spree sheet. I think I would just have to close my eyes, not look at the total, and just hand over the credit card. When I think about all the really bad habits I could have, the $$$ spent on needlepoint don't seem so bad to me. At least that's how I justify it! Looking forward to hearing more about your trip!
ReplyDeleteIt was so wonderful. You will have the best time in May. Sounds like you have some friends to meet there.
DeleteMy husband thinks stitching keeps me out of the bars and out of the stores. If he knew the truth about that Mastercard, he would start wishing I had a drinking problem!
