Wonderful Weekend

It's here!

Don't you want to dive in?

Friday afternoon the doorbell rang.  I was still not dressed, and asked my daughter to go to the door.  "Mom, no one is there."  Mom yells down the stairs to check for a package on the front porch.  Our UPS man rings and runs.  I hear clump, clump, clump back up the stairs.  "What was it", mom asks.  Daughter replies some package from Amy Bunger.  I fly down the stairs almost knocking off the pictures of my children trying to get my robe on.  Oh, my!  Baby Jesus is back.  My stitch guide and threads for my birthday canvas are here.  Wonderful!  The only down side to this is that the canvas is not here!  Hoping it arrives this week.

Kathy Schenkel Tennis Round

Net or fence or dirt
This is for my son for Christmas.  Here is where I ended Friday night after spending the evening at home alone.  Woohoo!  I am taking Carolyn Baird's advice and trying new stitches.  I don't know what the brown area represents to Kathy.  I took it to be the fence behind the player.  This stitch is called Ribbon Cross and is on pg. 60 of Even More Stitches for Effect.  I like it.

  1. Clever stitch on the roll up! Congratulations on the fun box. Stitch like the wind on your current projects so when The Canvas arrives, you will be ready to jump in with needles in both hands.

  2. Hi Steph,
Baby Jesus came out beautiful. Wonderful stitching and finishing. What great threads for your new canvas. I hope it arrives this week. I absolutely love the stitch you chose for the "fence". It looks amazing.
Just about all packed. Just have to put in my Capri pants and last minute items. So excited! We will be celebrating Amy's birthday on Thursday night.

  3. Hi Stephanie...When the roll-up is finished, the brown area is supposed to be the tennis players hair. Hope that helps!

  4. I thought my UPS man was the only "hit and run"; maybe it is in their job description, lol

I'm a little bit lost Steph: you have a baby Jesus and are going to stitch another one?

    1. I did buy another Nativity set if you can believe it. Or at least part of it. More on that tomorrow.
