How she looked when she arrived last Friday |
And, yes, I have noticed the painting boo-boo on the heart in the left side of the wing. I will have to get out my white paint to fix it, but no open stitches on these wings. I think I can handle it.

Long armed cross on the edging of her robe |
This stitch along the edge of her robe looks very thick and luxurious. Exactly how a queen's robe should look.

Quilted look to the coat |
I used #8 Kreinik for the hearts, four strands of NPI silk for the basketweaving of the coat, and Neon Rays to create the diamond pattern. I think I will bead the intersections if I can find the right color of bead. It looks true blue here but is really almost turquoise.
Looking great Steph, love the colors. For matching colors, in case you don't find beads to match, sequins are another option and they come in brighter colors
ReplyDeleteGood idea. Off to Joann's!
ReplyDeleteReally pretty! I can't wait to see this come along.
ReplyDeleteLove these little angels from Painted Pony. The Queen of Hearts is darling. Absolutely love her skirt. Such fun!
ReplyDeleteHi Steph,
ReplyDeleteThe Queen is beautiful. Cannot wait to see more.
Linda
I will work on her tonight. Hopefully, I will have something to show over the weekend. Happy Stitching!
ReplyDeleteI know Sundance has some great turquoise beads, but also look online at the Czech fire-polished beads (look at Beadazzled or another bead store). They have some wonderful colors. Usually, the smallest size they have is 11, which may be too big for this, but I've used some of their beads in my pieces, and they are quite effective! I love your stitch and thread selection!
ReplyDeleteG-Thanks for the info. Is size 14 smaller than 11? I always get that backwards.
