Look what I found

Shelley Tribbey Thanksgiving Angel
I found this girl in a box in my garage.  I packed that box SEVEN years ago when I moved.  Poor thing.  She is back out in the light of day just in time for the Super Bowl.

Filling the table
Here is what I did during the Super Bowl.  I finished all the bounty across the bottom.  I went as far as I could on her apron, but ran out of thread.

I also finished up the leaves in the header of grapevines.  See the large gap on the right side of the dress?  I don't remember why I didn't finish it, but there is no thread in the bag.  Maybe that is why.  I sure hope the color is the same or I will be ripping it out.  That will be a lot of trouble, but it wouldn't be a travesty to remove that loose encroaching gobelin I did 10 years ago.  Those little brown things at the bottom are going to be painted out and the white tablecloth stitched in.  She'll be good for Thanksgiving 2012!

  2. Hi Steph,
What a fun canvas. Hope you can find the thread for her dress.

  3. Thank you, ladies! It didn't seem like a particularly long Super Bowl, but maybe that is because I was focused on something else. Have a good day.

  4. And I thought I was the only one with unfinished pieces! She is adorable. If the tread doesn't match, I just might have it in my stash. You never know.
I was stitching during the Super Bowl too. Much better use of time! ~ Sarah

  5. Unfinished pieces?? You just gave me an idea for another post. It could be a long one! What were you stitching?

  6. Steph, I'm working on a Melissa Shirley Woodland Santa that is two sided. Beautiful piece that I began many, many years ago. It was a class at Needle Works. Never finished it, but I'd done so much on it that I decided I just have to get this one complete. Oh, I could do a complete post on unfinished pieces. I always say it's the process not the product, but it is a good feeling to finish! ;-)

  7. Most fun of needlepoint, the first stitch, and the last stitch.
