Village Scene by Ewe and Eye

Water to the left of the stone barn

Overview

Mill water

For the water we are using two strands of Threadworx in the wavy stitch.  I think it looks like water, but choppy water like the ocean.  Too picky?

  1. Shallow water running over a rocky bottom looks like that. I think sometimes we are so close to what we are stitching that we don't remember most effects are seen at a distance. Stand off from this and see what you think from a more normal viewing distance before you rip out is my advice. I like it myself.

  2. Too picky. Before I read your commentary I thought how much I liked the water! I totally agree with Jane!

  3. You girls are so good for me. Thanks for your kind and supportive comments. The water stays!

  4. Love the water...looks like it is coming out of the mill and running over small stones like a babbling brook. I agree with the others, leave it in and look from further away. We are all picky about our own stitching aren't we?

  5. My thoughts exactly, everything looks great. I only disagree with one thing: Fatsy is not "squishing the magazines" - she/he is helping you working as a magazine holder :)

  6. I'm sold. It is so nice to have feed back. Fatty is smushing the magazines, on purpose, Miss Palma. She has been placed on a diet and is not happy about it. It is an attempt to get my attention and perhaps a second lunch. xoxo

  7. I agree with everyone else...the water looks great. I also like the barn roof. What thread are you using?

  8. The roof of the red barn at the lower left is DMC floss 3787 with Weeks Dye Works Charcoal(1303) interspersed periodically. The roof of the small green barn behind the yellow house is also done with DMC floss 3787.

  9. Oh, I know how mad pets get when put on a diet. Despite me telling them to write a complaint letter to their vet they continue to make me feel guilty. Do you get the "starvation look"?
